Acacia Gum, Gum Arabic, Crystals, Organic – 4 ounces

The Senegal Gum Acacia tree produces this ancient ingredient from the Sahara desert in Africa. Gum arabic, a complex mixture of polysaccharides and glycoproteins, is used primarily in the food industry as a stabilizer.

Gum arabic is also widely used in in many industries as an emulsifier and thickening agent in icing, fillings, chewing gum and other confectionery treats.

Acacia is a very diverse resin that has a multitude of uses. Although commonly used as an ingredient in icings, fillings, chewing gums and other confectionery treats, Gum Arabic may have antioxidant properties and has been known to be a soluble dietary fiber.

It is also a very commonly used as a base for burning incense because of its light smell.
